Pro Tips

What’s the most important thing you can bring to your next backyard bash? Safe grilling techniques, of course. Here are a couple of tips to make sure your summer nights stay safe:

  1. Only use grills outside, away from your home, deck railings and overhanging branches. Children and pets should be kept at least three feet away from the grilling area.
  2. Make sure your grill is located on a flat, level surface.
  3. Check your grill for leaks before beginning by looking at all hoses on your grill and the gas cylinder.
  4. Never leave the grill unattended while in use.
  5. Make sure your apron straps are tied in the back.
  6. Keep a spray bottle on hand and always have a fire extinguisher or fire blanket close by. If storing your extinguisher outside, ensure it is kept away from exposure to the elements.
  7. Always clean your grill after use.
