• 1 lb Manda Sausage
  • 1/2 cup Manda Diced Cooked Ham
  • 1 lb white beans
  • 1 onion
  • 1/2 bell pepper
  • 1 stalk celery
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 can chicken broth or 2 chicken bouillon cubes

Cooking Instructions

    Dice the onion, bell pepper, and celery; and cut the sausage into bite-sized pieces.

    In a large pot, melt the butter and cook the onions, bell pepper, and celery over medium heat for 5 minutes.

    Add the beans, sausage, diced ham, chicken broth or bouillon cubes, and enough water to cover the beans by 1 inch.

    Bring to a boil. Then reduce the heat and simmer for 3 hours or until beans are tender. If necessary, add more water to the beans while they are simmering.

    Season to taste.

    White Beans are often served as a side for jambalaya. They can also be served alone, over rice, or on top of jambalaya.
